IN MEMORIAM

Ruth E. Armstrong, 90, retired Kansas Foundation for the Blind employee, died Dec. 15, 2003. Survivors: nephew, Charles Armstrong of Wichita; nieces, Jan Mendell of Salina, Marilyn McFadden of Wichita, Sylvia Cruz of El Paso, TX, Joyce Daniels of Sho-Low, AZ. Memorial established with Wichita Public Library, Talking Books Division.

Evelyn McKenna, of Wichita, died in December, 2003. She was a member of SKAVI for several years. She was a good cook and took goodies to SKAVI meetings whenever she was able.

Georgine Olson, Hays, died January 2, 2004. She is survived by a son, Tom Olson, Westminster, Co.,

Roger Leonard Bennin Sr. – 59, of Chanute, died at his home January 9, 2004. He was born July 1, 1944 and graduated in 1981 from Western Michigan University with a Masters of Science Degree in Blind Rehabilitation Teaching and Counseling. He served as a Blind Rehabilitation Teacher and Counselor for the State of Kansas for 19 years and retired from the Chanute office in 2000. He served on the board of the Tri-valley Development Services and was a strong advocate for persons with disabilities. Survivors include: His wife, Rosa Bennin; son, Roger Jr.; daughter, Rachel Cornish; four brothers; one sister; and one grandchild. Memorial gifts were established for Envision of Wichita and First United Methodist Church of Chanute
