CHAPTER CHATTER

NKAVI, The Northwest Kansas Association for the Visually Impaired, shared humorous blindness-related experiences in May. Participants learned about protection against identity theft in June. The group will have no meetings in July and August but will resume in September.

Western Kansas Low Vision Support Group – meets the Second Sunday of each month, 310 E Walnut, Suite 101, Garden City, at 2:00 except on holidays.

CKAVI – Central Kansas Association for the Visually Impaired meets the last Sunday of each month, September through April, at the Convent Auditorium, 3600 Broadway,, Great Bend, at 2:00.

NKAVI - Northwest Kansas Association for the Visually Impaired meets the first Saturday of each month at the Hays Country Kitchen for lunch and social time at 12:00 noon with the meeting to follow.

SKAVI - Southwest Kansas Association for the Visually Impaired meets the second Saturday of each month at 2:00 at the Trinity Apartments, 6th and Division Streets, Dodge City.

TAVI - Topeka Association for the Visually Impaired enjoyed a potluck supper in May with smoked brisket and turkey breast provided by the organization and side dishes provided by members. No meeting was held in June because facilities at the Kansas Rehabilitation Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired were in use by students involved in the VIEWS Program. Rocky Nichols of the Kansas Advocacy and Protective Services spoke in July. TAVI meets the second Saturday of each month from 2:00 to 4:00 at the Rehabilitation Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired, 2601 SW East Circle Drive North, Topeka, from 2:00 to 4:00 unless otherwise announced.
