103rd ANNUAL CONVENTION
Kansas Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (KABVI)
REGISTRATION/Membership Renewal FORM
WHEN: Friday, October 6—Saturday, October7, 2023
TIME: Friday, 9:00 AM-4:00 PM., Saturday 9:00 AM-1:00 PM.
WHERE: OUR ANNUAL CONVENTION IS 100% VIRTUAL. Attend using your computer, I device or regular phone to attend virtually. Register and we will provide you with links or phone numbers to use in attending.
This will be a Zoom meeting. You will need to complete the enclosed membership renewal/registration form. By registering, , you will be eligible for door prizes at this virtual convention! ACB MEDIA is hosting the convention again this year, which means it will be broadcast all over the world! If you just wish to listen to the convention without asking questions, or being eligible for door prizes, it will be broadcast on ACB MEDIA stream 8, which is available by telling you Alexa or other smart speaker to enable ACB media, and then play stream 8.
The American Council of the Blind, the national organization with whom KABVI is affiliated, awards one affiliate vote for every 25 members we have. KABVI membership gives you an individual vote at the ACB National Conference and Convention, in Jacksonville, Fl. Next July. This National meeting can be attended in person, or virtually through Zoom or ACB Media.

FEES: $20 to renew your membership to KABVI through 2024 and cover administrative costs.
If you do not want to attend our convention, please renew your $10.00
membership to KABVI anyway,
All registered attendees will receive Zoom information via e-mail or phone closer to October 6, 2023.
If you register for the convention but do not use a computer, please call (785)-233-3839 for call-in phone numbers. Of course, you will need unlimited, free long-distance to be able to use your phone to attend. Be sure to write your email clearly so the Zoom information can be sent to you. If you just wish to listen to the convention, it will be broadcast on ACB Media 8.
We will be hearing from Heather Martens, “The Blind Barista”; Debra Erickson, entrepreneur and owner of “The Blind Kitchen”; Michael Harris, Utah State Library, about all things concerning the braille EReader; the usual up-dates from the KS State School for the Blind, Talking Books, Audio Reader radio reading service and Envision. Also there will be a very special presentation of the Eleanor A. Wilson award for Outstanding Work to Assist blind and visually impaired Kansans.
